Mother Lucy Bertha Bowier-Adotey

With thanksgiving to God for a life well lived, we announce the death of our Matriarch in her 85^th year, Lucy Bertha Bowier-Adotey. She transitioned on February 28, 2025, at her home in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

Teta, Mama, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Teacher Lucy, Aunty Lucy, Crowd of G, Golden Girl, as she was affectionately called, was a loving, caring, and nurturing woman who opened her home and heart to all.

She is survived by her children; Catherine G. Montgomery, William (Bill) Montgomery Jr. Mattell Etta Montgomery, Charlesetta Cooper Natee, Evelyn Cooper, Charles D. Cooper, Jr. Patricia Cooper Woods, Keturah Gailah, Paul Adotey, Vero Adotey Sogah, Johannes Lucien Adotey, her nieces/daughter Gerley Bowier Telewoda, Gladys Evelyn Bowier-Gbilia, her sons and daughters in law, numerous foster children, grand and great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is survived also by her siblings Alex J. Bowier, Moses Sarboah Bowier, Sarah Bowier Nornie, Ida Bowier Sanni, Emmanuel Kudjordji and her family at Peoples Community Lutheran Church in Baltimore, Maryland.

She was predeceased in death by four of her children (Robert Emmanuel Montgomery aka Monte, Joseph M. Montgomery, Fatu Cooper and Genevieve Adotey Murphy), her parents Johnny Sokleh and Bertha Bowier and her husbands, William Benjamin Montgomery Sr., Charles D. Cooper, Sr. and Johannes P. Adotey.

May her soul rest in God’s perfect peace and light perpetual shine on her. We love and miss her but God loves her best.
