It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that the Tyler and James families announce the passing of Edith Leona Tyler, who departed this life peacefully on April 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Tyler lived a life marked by peace, dignity, faith, and love. She was a devoted Christian who exemplified what it means to be a true follower of Christ. Her passing has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Family and Survivors
Mrs. Tyler was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor George Tyler Sr.; her sons, Victor G. Tyler II., Franklin H. Tyler, and Alvin C. Tyler; and her great-grandson, Zachariah Kamara.
She is survived by her children: Rev. Ethel Garnett, Esther Tyler, Rev. Marvel Tyler-Parker, Hensley Tyler (Yorng Tyler), Rev. Osman Tyler (Dr. Priscilia Tyler), Mark Tyler, and Evelyn Tyler; her only brother, Boimah Sandimanie (Cecelia Sandimanie); and her daughters-in-law, Catherine Tyler and Jennifer Tyler.
She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandchildren: Dr. Dasherline Johnson (Rev. Alphonso Johnson), Mercy Ellis (Sam Ellis), Lawrence Tyler, Ernest Johnson, Mardea Kulee (Eric Kulee), Frances Tyler, Varney Gray, Patricia Gray, Kynma Dunn, Franklin Tyler Jr., Frankie Tyler (Aduragbemi Tyler), Frankielia Tyler, Bernice Wilkes (Marlon Wilkes), Quinette Tyler (Maarten Nagtegaal), Adul Parker, Yunusa Parker, Idris Parker (Candice Parker), Safi Kpodi (Anthony Kpodi), Lucia Paker, Tulasi Kamara, Silifatu Parker, Suwebatu Parker. Victor Tyler III, Victoria Tyler, Vanessa Cleveland (Reggie Cleveland), Gretchen Tyler, Hensley Tyler Jr., Danielle Tyler, Ashley Tyler, Marvel Tyler, Jasmin Tyler, Mark Tyler Jr., Rudolph Tyler, Edith Tyler, Enoch Tyler, Osman Tyler Jr., Jamal Tyler, Curtis Tyler, Grace Tyler, Loomis Gerring, Lylmai Gerring, Kevin Tyler, and Marcel Tyler.
Also mourning her loss are her stepchildren, Decontee and Victor Survival Tyler; her nieces and nephews, Rhonda Dunbar, Danette Nyanti, Lydian Garteh, Barbara Hamilton, Lucia Clark, Hannah Sirleaf, Delano Ward, Prince Dennis, Boris Sandimanie, Lydia Nimley, Elvira Sandimanie, Yadell Sandimanie, Sandor Sandimanie, Rose Menyongai, and Olu Muili; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren in the United States, Liberia, Canada, Germany, and Ghana.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in perfect peace, and may perpetual light shine upon her.
