William Garfield Dunbar

June 11, 1962 – May 25, 2026

The Dunbar family announces the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and loved one, William “Billy” Dunbar, who passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, Georgia, following cardiac arrest.

William was preceded in death by his mother, R. Elaine Dunbar; his father, Edwin J. Dunbar; and his older brother, Edwin J. Dunbar Jr.

He is survived by his children, Andrea Oketunji née Dunbar, BJ Dunbar, Roxie Dunbar, Brandon Dunbar, Quentina Elaine Chambers née Dunbar, Quenida Lillie Dunbar, and Mercedes Dunbar; his grandchildren, Ethan Kamara, Elijah Dunbar, Haija Dolo, Kalu Oketunji, Sebastien Oketunji, and Mansa Oketunji; his siblings, Korto Hoff, Dr. Winnie Davies, Millie Dunbar, Calvin Dunbar, Lincoln Dunbar, Levi “Duke” Dunbar and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and loved ones.
