It is with profound sadness that the Sherif, Sherman, Sirleaf, and Seton families announce the homegoing of Genevieve Wede Sherif.
Our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Monrovia, Liberia.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Varmunyah; her three sons, Chedehga, Moivee, and Momolu; her daughter, Bartu; her granddaughter, Leila; her Aunt Helena; along with her siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Genevieve will be remembered for her loving and caring spirit, her unwavering faith in God, and the strength of her convictions.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
The body will be removed from the Samuel Stryker Funeral Parlors on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 4:30pm and taken to the St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Camp Johnson Road, Monrovia for a night of wake keeping starting at 6pm.
Funeral services over the remains of Genevieve Sherman-Sherif will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 10:00am at the same Church.
All tributes except those from the family will be paid during the wake.
Interment will take place at the Shiata Vault and Garden Cemetery in Careysburg.
