It is with profound sorrow the Tulay family announce the homegoing of their beloved father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, Mr. Edward Keifah-Tulay which sad event occurred on July 20, 2023, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia USA after a protracted illness. Edward is survived by his two sons: Andrew K. Tulay and Christopher M. Tulay both in the United States, his parents, Mr. Andrew Keifah-Tulay and Ms. Sobondo Jullah of Foya Tengia and Ngogumah Town, Foya District, Lofa County who predeceased him. Edward came from a large Tulay Family (brothers & sisters) with roots in Foya Tengia, Kolba City, Kiatahun in Lofa County and many family members in Liberia, USA, Australia, and the United Kingdom. He was born on October 7, 1959.
Edward began his elementary education at the Foya Tengia Public School in 1968 completing his elementary education in 1974 at the Tamba Taylor Public School. He then moved on to the St. Cyprian Junior High School in Bolahun, Lofa County. Edward graduated from the JJ Ross High School on Ashmun Street in Monrovia in 1982.
Ed Tulay as he was affectionately called worked with the American Embassy in Monrovia as a Guard Force Commander for the Inter-Con Security Group from 1982 to1997 before departing to resettled in the United States.
Funeral service will be held at the Exodus Funeral Home, 1001 North 63rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19151 on September 16, 2023, beginning at 10:00AM EST. Interment will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery, 1400 Springfield Rd, Collingdale, PA 19023. Venue for the repast will be announced at the funeral.
