With deep regret and sorrow, the Wamah family announces the homegoing of Rebecca Yei Wamah: This sad event occurred at G. W Harley Hospital in Sanniquellie, Nimba County on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was 88 years old.
“Ma Becky”, also known as “Wamalay”, was a member of the United Liberian Inland Church. She had a unique affinity for children. She served as a Nurse Aide and later a Dispenser, at the G. W. Harley Hospital in Sanniquellie, Nimba County. She was a stalwart member of the community. To know her was to experience the meaning of humbleness. Her home was always open to all.
Ma Becky is survived by her husband and life partner, Peter T.Z. Wamah; Brother: Moses Lapkei; Sister: Linda Q. Nyansayee and Brother-in-Law: Augustus N. Wamah.
Children: Kwato S. Wamah; Yeko E. Wamah; Lelo K. Wamah and Wontor P. Wamah.
Step Children: Paye; Yei; Ruth; Norgbeyee; Issac and Ophelia. Seventeen (17) grandchildren and a host of Nephews and Nieces.
Wake keeping and funeral service will be at the United Liberian Inland Church.
The wake keeping will take place on Thursday, February 8th from 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM.
Funeral service will occur on Friday, February 9th starting at 10:00 AM.
