It is with profound sorrow that the Tower, Harvey and Banks Family regret to announce the peaceful passing of His Honor, Judge Jesse Howard Banks Jr. at 8:30am on 28th June 2024 at the Good Shepard Hospice in the City of Lakeland, Florida, USA.
We are saddened by his loss but we thank God Almighty for blessing him to have enjoyed a respectful and lengthy life with fairly good health. What a blessing!
He served his country in various capacities including, Acting Chief Justice of Liberia, Resident Judge of Criminal Court C; Solicitor General of Liberia, Assistant Minister of Justice, Legal Counselor at the ministry of Justice; an educator: teacher at Lott Carey Baptist Mission School and Saint Patrick High Schools; an organist at several churches, choirs and groups both in the U.S. and Liberia; and a businessman.
He leaves to mourn his children: Lucretia (Teetee) Banks, Charles E. Banks (Etmonia Davis-Banks), Arnette Anthony, Jesse H. Banks III, and Joseph Allison (Friday); Maurice Junius Banks predeceased him. His sister Cornelia Banks; Susan Banks Brown and Ann Banks Harris predeceased him. His grandchildren, Elmina, Jessie Lorraine, Maurice Junius II, Miles Edwin, and his great grandchild Elmina Zaria. Others include his ex-wife:Miss Lucinda E. York (his Cindy), nephews, nieces, cousins and many relatives and treasured friends.
A service of thanksgiving for the repose of the soul will be held in his native land, Liberia, which he loved dearly in the month of January 2025. Details would be forthcoming.
