
The Grandoe, Dortu and Seke Families announce the death of their Daughter, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Niece, Ms. Sijlah Kipidi Seke, popularly known as ‘Aunty Eskay or Madam Eskay’ (SK).
This sad event occurred on Monday, January 27, 2025, after a period of illness, at her residence located opposite the Baptist Seminary Youth Camp in Liberia.
Sijlah began her early childhood life and education in Yekepa, Nimba County, where she attended the LAMCO International School (E-School). She also attended the Inland Mission School, in Bahn, Nimba County, the Lutheran Training Institute, in Salayea, Lofa County, and D. Twe Memorial High School, New Kru Town, Bushrod Island. She continued unto the University of Liberia, Monrovia earning a B.A. Degree in Social Science
She was a former employee of the Liberia Cement Corporation (CEMENCO), where she served the company dutifully for several years from the Sales Department unto various departments and rising to various managerial positions within the company
Due to her staunch Christian upbringing, Ms. Sijlah served her church faithfully unto her end, serving in several capacities within the Georgia Patten Memorial United Methodist Church, Old Kru Town, Waterside, where she was the Former President, Usher Board; Former Usher of the Year; Former Coordinator, Youth Fellowship; Former Co-Chairperson, Nomination Committee and Former President; Former Chairperson, Staff Pastor Parish Relation Committee(SPPRC); Former President, Christian Women of Substance. In addition to representing the GPMUMC in various capacities at the District and National levels.
She was precedeased in death by her parents B. Blamon(BB) Seke, Rev. Nancy T Seke and Martha Doeplo Klay Juah; and sister, Waw Susanah Seke
She leaves to mourn her death, her daughter, Kortee Joy Sackor and nephew Blamo B. Seke III.
She is survived by her siblngs, Beatrice Seke, Thompson N Chea, Blamo Seke, Jr, Nyipan Seke, D.Wleh Seke(Deborah), Krah Seke, Saybeh Teijleh, Siwon Seke, Rev. Jarnyene N. Seke(Tenneh), Nmasnon Seke, Portieh Seke, Wankpeh Sylvester Seke(Kate), Joshua B. Doe-Smith(Isatu) and Wollor Andrews. Along with other relatives, including grandnieces and grandnephews. friends and colleagues in Liberia, Seirra Leone, Ghana, United States and other parts of the world. She will be missed by her many smiles, laughter and jovial manners.

In honor of the last wishes of the deceased, which the family intend to fully uphold, no floral designs or tributes will be allowed. All sympathizers are encouraged to pay their tributes in cash or kind to the deceased daughter, Kortee Joy Sackor.
Visitation of the family is at the late Sijlah Kipidi Seke’s residence, located opposite the Baptist Seminary Youth Camp.
