The Mayson, Scott, Sawyer, and Payne families announce with great sadness and grief the passing of Ms. Beatrice F. Mayson, affectionately known as “Sister” in Detroit, Michigan after a brief illness. She transitioned to be with her Heavenly Father on the early morning of July 29, 2024, at the Medilodge of Southfield, Michigan. A devoted, strong willed and fierce defender of her independence, as well as a people person, “Sister” always extended a helping hand to those in need. She will be deeply missed in many circles like the Liberian Association in Michigan (LAM) and the Sinoe County Association in America.
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. May her soul rest in the arms of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by parents Stephen Mayson and Arnette Tema Scott. She leaves to cherish her memory, sister: Marietta (Dodoe) Brown-Brisbane uncles Prof Dew (Roberta) Mayson, Samuel Mayson, Jr, Robert (Elfreda) Mayson, Emily (Alex) Peale; nieces & nephews: Jada Mayson, Precious Wilson, Beatrice Collins, Henretta Caryton, Jessie Brisbane, George Brisbane, Jr, and Okeke Brisbane; cousins Claudius Smith, Burke Major, Monroe Major, Emily Cheedie, Eugene Sawyer and host of other relatives and friends to name a few Elsa Bailey-Draper, Theresa Gardner, Taylorie (Emmanuel) Bailey, Edith Horace-Saywrane, Edna Clarke-Umoh, Samson (Carol) Kobbah, Dempster Yallah, Kemi (Femi) Fadayomi, Manix Kromah, Solomon Willie, Rev & Mrs. Anthony Ballah and the entire Liberian community in Michigan.
