It is with profound sorrow and regret that the Morris, Tarlue, Avery and Smith families announce the passing of their beloved wife, mother, sister, Auntie and cousin, Mrs. Menti Avery Morris, who transitioned to glory on August 7, 2026, 9:00PM at her home in Philadelphia, PA. Our late mother Menti Avery Morris, was born on January 1, 1947, to the Union of Joseph Avery Sr., and Esther Gwen Avery. Both parents predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her former husband George Tarlue, and siblings, Annie Avery, Patrick Sebastian Smith, Sr., Joseph Avery Jr., three children, Helena, and Gracious Tarlue as well as Bobby Morris.
Our mother Menti is survived by her current husband, James Wulu Morris, several children, including Comfort Veronica Boymah, Georgia Tarlue (Andrews), Watchien Kunter, Lawson Morris, Ruth Morris, and Mercy Morris Saypoh (John), twenty-one grandchildren and several great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Other immediate relatives, who cherished her memory are, Minister Beatrice Smith Mlendough (Robert), sister, and Elizabeth Avery , sister. Others are E. Roy Smith, Sr., Esq. (Beatrice), Ruth Kear (Moses), and other relatives in the USA, Liberia and around the world.
