With heavy hearts, the family announces the homegoing of our beloved son, father, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend James Yarkpawolo Gbarbea, Jr., affectionately known as JY. James departed on July 26, 2024, at the Lawrenceville Rehabilitation Center in New Jersey, where he was undergoing physical therapy following surgeries.
James Yarkpawolo Gbarbea was predeceased by his wife, Florence Uso; father, the honorable James Y. Gbarbea Sr., former Superintendent of Bong County; his stepmother, Myrline Sanah Cooper Gbarbea; and his grandmother, Ida M. Lloyd. He is mourned by his beloved mother, Jerusha Lloyd Jallah; his children: daughters Hattie Gbarbea and Michelle Davidson (and son-in-law, Norcliffe Davidson); sons Milton James Gbarbea and Jamed Gbolokai Gbarbea; his adopted daughter, Monuta Gbarbea; his grandchildren; as well as his siblings, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties, and a host of other relatives.
May his soul rest in peace and may the strength and peace of the Lord comfort all who grieve his passing.
