It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, Deacon William Dao Gray of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Old Road, Mount Olive Baptist Church in Tallah. His peaceful passing occurred on April 11, 2024, at 4:40 pm at his residence on ELWA Road in Monrovia, Liberia.
He is survived by his children: Lattay Gray, Claudia J.Gray Fofanah, Ellen Gray, Williametta Gray, Iola Alice Gray Lewis, Armah Gray, Sadia Gray Seekie, and Olive Jugar. He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and surviving siblings, France Gray, Oretha Gray, Morris Gray, Gebah Gray, Varney Ged, and Miatta Gray. His beloved sons and daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins in the USA and Liberia also remember him.
His wife, Deaconess Tenneh S. Gray, his parents, Boima Latty Gray and Catherine J. Moore Gray, and his siblings, John Gray, Willie Gray, Amanda Gray Kony, and Caroline Gray Jackson, all preceded him in death and now join him in eternal peace.
Funeral arrangements are as follow:
Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 4:00 PM:
The body will be removed from the St. Moses Funeral Home to Mount Zion Baptist Church, Old Road, for a few hours of Wake keeping.
Friday, May 17, 2024, at 9:00 AM
The body will be removed from St. Moses Funeral Home and taken to Benson Memorial
Church, Tallah, Grand Cape Mount County, for one night of wake keeping.
Funeral Service: Saturday
May 18, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Benson Memorial Church, Tallah, Grand Cape Mount County.
Interment:
At Gray’s and Moore’s Cemetery in Tallah, Grand Cape Mount County
For those wishing to travel with the bereaved families and the body to Tallah, Grand Cape Mount County, buses will be available at the funeral home to take people for the wake and back to Monrovia after the funeral.
