Charles T. H. Dennis Jr., affectionately known as “Cha Cha,” passed away peacefully at his home on February 21, 2026. He was born on December 22, 1942, in Monrovia, Liberia.
Cha Cha received his early education in Monrovia and Kakata and later graduated from the College of West Africa (CWA) in 1962, where he distinguished himself as a Cadet Corps Captain and the goalkeeper on the school’s soccer team. He pursued higher education at Cuttington College before earning a scholarship to study Agriculture in Copenhagen, Denmark, obtaining a degree in Animal Husbandry.
Upon his return to Liberia, he served under the Ministry of Agriculture and later joined the Liberia Produce Marketing Corporation (LPMC) in 1976, contributing significantly to national agricultural development and food security. In the U.S., he served for 22 years as Accounts Manager at two large apartment developments in the Maryland area owned and managed by Edgewood Management Corporation, where he retired in 2014.
A passionate farmer, Cha Cha found great joy on his farm along Lakata Road, where he cultivated citrus, oil palm, coffee, and cocoa. He was also deeply committed to youth development, community service, and his faith, serving with the Boy Scouts of Liberia, the YMCA, and as an acolyte at Trinity Cathedral, Broad Street. He was a Master Mason and member of Mt. Moriah Lodge, #13 AF & AM; Margibi County R.L.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles T. H. Sr. and Janide E. Dennis, and brother James Dennis. He is survived by his beloved wife, Woryeneh Youn-Dennis; his children: Cianna Dennis; Charles T. H. Dennis III (Candy); Ciapha Dennis (Shelly); Levi Yeah (Constance); Chaka Dennis; Carmen Dennis; Elizabeth “Chuppee” Youn; Deaweh Benson; Woryeneh Benson; his grandchildren; Chaz K. Dennis, Chase Dennis, Calen A. Dennis, DeVonté McCoy, Christian M. Dennis-Slewion, Ciani Dennis, Ciapha Dennis, Jr., MaLiyah Youn, Carynn Long; great granddaughter, Tiffany Dennis; his siblings: Roseline E. Cooper; Granville E.F. Dennis Sr. (Williametta); Mary Ellen Dennis; Miama Louise Wallace; Fannie Peso Dennis-Hamblin; and Janide Serena Carter (George).
Charles T. H. Dennis Jr. will be remembered for his integrity, service, and lasting impact on his family and community.
