It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Reeves-Family announces the sudden death of our beloved husband, father , brother, uncle, cousin, and friend Chapman A. Reeves III , commonly called Chappy boy. He peacefully passed at the Catholic Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia on Tuesday, October 3,2023 after a very brief illness.
Chapman A. Reeves III was born on November 9, 1956, to the union of Honorable Chapman A. Reeves and Annie R.A. Reeves in Fortsville, St. John River City, Grand Bassa County. He began his education at C. B. Reeves Kindergarten School in Fortsville and later transferred to No. 1 Compound Day School and Owensgrove Elementary School. His father was a member of the Legislature of Liberia, and the family built a home in Gaye Town, Monrovia and the children changed schools to B. W. Harris School and later he went to Kakata to attend BWI.
Chappy was a friendly , loving, and caring person . He was a simple person who loved driving and life. He taught his friends and relatives to drive and had a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. In recent years Chappy decided to do farming and became a budding entrepreneur. Chappy had a generous spirit demonstrated in his willingness to share whatever resources he had with others. He was always a great friend and formed some special relationships. Like his father, Chappy loved to dress.
Chappy embraced religion at an early age and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. He was baptized in Union Baptist Church , Fortsville . After a major accident Chappy became more involved in church activities Consequently, we saw Chappy’s faith in the Almighty Father and dedication to the things of Christ. Church became an integral part of his life’s journey. Chappy was a man who loved God and how God loved him! He lived the most God honoring life he could and his faithfulness to Christ was an encouragement to so many.
Chappy was predeceased by his parents, Chapman and Annie R. A. Reeves, his son Gardea Adonis Reeves, his sisters Victoria, Winifred, and his brothers Alfred and Herald
Mourning his loss is his wife Esther Reeves, son Youkonjay Chapman Reeves, his sister Mydea Reeves-Karpeh, his extended families including the Dunns, Logans, Flamma Shermans, Junius, Schofields, Mc Gees; his special cousins/brothers Emmanuel Nuku Reeves and Wilson Reeves, several stepchildren (Cecelia, Samuel, Marie, Solomon, Joseph, Josephus; Eve), many nieces, nephews ,cousins and friends.

Silent Wake at his residence in Gaye Town, Monrovia October 26,2023
On Saturday , October 28, 2023, the mortal remains of Chapman A. Reves III will be removed from the Evening Rest Funeral Home in Lower Buchanan and taken to Union Baptist Church in Fortsville, St. John River City, Grand Bassa County for funeral services at 10:00 am. .Internment will follow at the Fortsville Public Cemetery in the Chapman Reeves Plot.
