Our hearts are heavy as we share the sad news of the peaceful passing of Bishop Bennie Dee Warner in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday, October 27, 2024.
Bishop Warner leaves to mourn his death, his son Bennie D., daughter-in-law Cherri Warner, seven (7) grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends around the world.
He was predeceased by his parents, Chief Charlie Zeonbartaye Warner and Eli Nboramba, his wife of 59 years, Anna Harmon Warner, his children, Mardea Warner, Kaymah Warner and Philip Warner.
Bishop Warner was elected Bishop of the United Methodist Church in 1973 and served one term as the episcopal leader of the Liberian Annual Conference.
He served as the 25th Vice President of the Republic of Liberia from 1977 -1980.
In the United States, he served as Pastor of United Methodist Church congregations in Oklahoma, New York and Arkansas. Prior to retiring, he was appointed District Superintendent of the UMC churches in the Camden District of Little Rock, Arkansas.
