The Williams and Wilson families announce with the saddest regret the sudden passing of their beloved mother, sister and aunt, Aletha ” Pleebo Girl” Kaloh WIlliams – Laura Vicks. This sad event occurred on Friday, March 8th, 2024 in Atlanta,Georgia, USA. Aletha Laura was born in Pleebo, Maryland County to the union of Thomas N. Williams Sr. and Ms. Annie Wlonyon Wilson, both of whom predeceased her.
Aletha attended the William Rogers Kindergarten School and St. Francis High School in Pleebo. She later attended and graduated from the Bishop Fergerson High School in Harper Maryland County. Aletha earned Nursing Certificates from the Tuskegee Community College of Alabama, and The St. Joseph School of Nursing in Providence Rhode Island, United States of America. As a nurse she worked at several medical institutions with distinction and was awarded many medals and certificates for her exemplary service in nursing.
Aletha, Pleebo Girl as she was affectionately referred to, was a staple member of many professional and civic organizations including the Liberian Community Association of Georgia, Our Lady of Fatima and St. Francis High Schools Alumni Association here in the United States, The Maryland County Association of Georgia and a proud member of The National Maryland County Association in the Americas. She faithfully attended many conventions of these organizations. A decorated veteran nurse in her career and long-time member of The St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Norcross, GA.
Aletha Laura ,will be forever remembered and missed by her loving daughter, Tannah Saytarkon Vicks, several siblings, nieces ,nephews and other relatives and friends. May her Gentle Soul soar among the heavens and let her beacon of light continue to shine as brightly today as it did yesterday.
