Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal” The Massaquoi, Porte, Obey, Wright and Haddad families announce with great sadness the loss of our beloved mother, aunt, grandmother, sister, niece, cousin and friend Mrs. Yolanda Porte Massaquoi Haddad. This sad event occurred on the morning of Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Belgium, Brussels. Yolanda Porte Massaquoi Haddad was born on September 28,1961 in Monrovia, Montserrado County, Liberia unto the union of the late Mr. Wesley Porte and the late Mrs. Edna Obey Massaquoi. Yolanda was a wonderful and gentle person who always wore a smile on her face and was always willing to help anyone with whom she came into contact. She also loved travelling and making new friends She was smart, dedicated, and successful in all her endeavors. She was blessed to have lived a life enriched with God’s love and surrounded by people who treasured her friendship. Prior to leaving Liberia, she was a member of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church, on Camp Johnson Road, where she served as an usher. While in Belgium, she joined the Jehovah Witness denomination and remained a Jehovah Witness until her death. Yola and Tete as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, leaves to mourn her loss, her darling (3)children; Faith (Matilda) ,Takipi and Chantal, her father Mr. Samuel S. Massaquoi; her (2) grandchildren, Jessie and Jayden; her brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, her only surviving aunt, Mrs. Viola Obey Capehart and a host of other relatives and friends in Liberia, the USA and other parts of the world. Yolanda was pre-deceased by her parents, Mr. Wesley Porte and Mrs. Edna Obey Massaquoi; her husband, Mr. Louis Haddad; and her brothers, Nathaniel and Leslie. Yolanda’s body was cremated in Brussels on January 12, 2021. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace and light perpetual shine upon her. Youlanda “Yola, Tete” as you were affectionately called, will dearly be missed.
