“When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul”, and I am resting peacefully in my Savior’s arms.”
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the Varfley and Boayue families announce the transition to glory of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie, and cousin, Viola Yahminisiah Boayue-Varfley. This somber event occurred in the comfort of her home in New Castle, Delaware on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
“Mommy”, “Veevee”, “V-Girl”, or “Neh-Neh”, as she was affectionately called, is survived by her children: Romeo V. Varfley, Leo V. Varfley, Lettie S. Philips (George), Peggy Wangah Varfley, Setowah Varfley, and Raddie Teresa Perry-Weeks (Monroe); Grandchildren: Romeo B. Varfley, aka R.B., Precious Varfley, Calvin Linken Perry, Leo Julius Varfley, Telvin Caesar Varfley, Brandon Witherspoon, Raphael K. Kwabo, Britney Haney, Viola Ma Yah Varfley, Ronnavee Varfley, Ayana Henries, Aribya Henries, and Micah Varfley; Great grandchildren: Alecia Soto and Jacari Rolon; Brothers: Dr. Wilfred S. Boayue, Sr. (Stella), Philip N. Boayue, Sr. (Barbara), Saye Koley Boayue, Sr., and James M. Boayue (Eva); and many nieces., nephews,, cousins, and a host of other relatives, friends, and caregivers, whom she chose to share her life with in her earthly sojourn. May her soul rest in eternal bliss!
She was predeceased by her husband, Mr. John Saku Varfley, Jr.; her son, John Ceasar Varfley; her brothers, Charles S. G. Boayue, Sr., Joseph W. Boayue, Sr., Sei David Boayue,, Wuoah Flomo Boayue, Ernest P. Boayue, Sr.,, Stephen S. Boayue, Sr.,, Wuoah G. Boayue, Sr.,, Saye Miandah Boayue, and Jesse Boayue; her sisters Masita Boayue-Sayon, Kou Queelu Boayue-Dunbar,, Kou Dealeh Boayue-Suah, Yah Gbekeleh Boayue-Gborweah, Yah Meanleh Boayue,, Kou Gbonah Boayue Luogon, and Kau Mewaseh Tusehn Boayue-Zolo.
Mom lived a full life and touched many people along the way. We are grateful to the Almighty God for her life and pray for strength, grace, and peace that surpasses all understanding. “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.”
