Oretha Manu Cole Bureh

With deep sorrow, we announce the death of our beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend Mrs. Oretha Manu Cole Bureh. This heartbreaking event occurred on September 1, 2022, in Rochester, Minnesota, USA, after a period of illness.

Mrs. Oretha Manu Bureh was born to the union of Ma, Hawa Sonii, and Mr. Thomas Cole Sr. She grew up on Jamaica Road, Bushrod Island, before moving to UNITY COMMUNITY on Hotel Africa Road, Lower Virginia.

She worked with Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS) in Montserrado County, Liberia, as vice principal for Administration at Boatswain Junior and Senior High School on Jamaica Road. She also worked as principal for Mouivi Sonii Junior and Senior high school in Clara Town and vice principal and administrator of D-Tweh high school in New Kru Town. In the U.S.A., she continued her work in the Fargo school district.

While we have suffered a great loss as a family, we rest in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be at home with the Lord.

Oretha is survived by: her husband, Thomas Abu Bureh, her children Emmanuel Bureh, Isatta Tiahglan, Alicia Bureh, Senesie Bureh, Gerald Bureh, Elfreda Sheriff, Maria Eidan, Stephen Tiahglan; her grandchildren Leenehn Conto, Noah Sheriff Jr., Keisha Bureh, Stephanie Tiahglan, and Amarisa Tiahglan; her brothers Father Abu Cole, and Thomas Sandee Cole; her sisters Siatta Cole, Annie Koffa, Kadie Cole, Massa Sheriff, and a host of other relatives and friends in the U.S, and Liberia.
