With profound sadness, the Morais, Scott, Hne, Newton, Allison, and Aikins families announce the peaceful homegoing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Ms. Sophia Yewlle Morais. This sad event occurred on Friday, January 10, 2025, in Monrovia, Liberia, after a brief illness. She will always be loved and sorely missed.

Affectionately known as Yewlle, Mama, Grandma, Sister, Aunty Sophia, and Ma, she leaves to mourn her loss: 3 children: Felicia Putee Newton, Christiana Sade Allison, and John Kweku Aikins; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. Siblings: Gregory Scott Hne, Alice Hne, Sarah Hne, and Moriah Hne Dean. Several foster children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and loved ones.

She is predeceased by her parents, Dr. Francis Morais and Sarah Scott Hne, as well as her beloved siblings: sisters: Mary Frances Dwedor Morais, Susanna Morais Browne, Sarah Morais Freeman, Charlotte Morais Lama, and Jane Morais Brownell; brothers: Francis Morais, Major Morais, and Lee Morais.

Viewing of the Body / Wake Keeping/ Funeral Service
Viewing of the body and Wake Keeping will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. at Faith Healing Temple of Jesus Christ Inc., Bushrod Island, Liberia.

The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the same location.
