It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that the Sherman and Tom Beon Nimley families announce the sudden homegoing of our beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and family matriarch, Honorable Myononway Esther Nimley Sherman. A former representative of River Cess County, Legislature of the Republic of Liberia, CEO and Founder of Women and Children Development Organization (WACDO) and wife of the late Rudolph Emmett Sherman.
This sad event occurred on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at her residence on Duport Road, Paynesville, Liberia. She was seventy-one.
She was affectionately called Mommy, My-you, FORM, Mama, MEN and Budouba by those who knew and loved her.
Myononway Nimley Sherman leaves a remarkable legacy as she excelled in both career and community and will be remembered for her kind and compassionate nature as well as her profound dedication to the advancement of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She leaves to mourn her two daughters Mrs. Myreschelle Sherman Clinton and Mrs. Monica Logan Watts, three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life
On Friday, April 26, at 11:00 AM, the body will be removed from the AB Anderson Funeral Home to the Capitol Building to lie in State.
Later that evening, a wake will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trinity Cathedral Episcopal Church on Broad Street in Monrovia, Liberia. All tributes from individuals and friends will be warmly received during the wake.
Following the wake, the family will gather for an all-night family service at the family residence on the Old Road, Tokpa Camp.
On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM, funeral services will be held at The Trinity Cathedral Episcopal Church on Broad Street, Monrovia, Liberia.
Interment
Interment to follow at the Tom Beon Nimley Family Cemetery in Caldwell, Liberia.
