The Jones and Hayes families sadly announce the peaceful homegoing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Mr. Franklin Delano “Bami” Jones who recently departed this life in Sweden.
He is survived by his daughters, Elisabet and Celinda; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four sisters, Leila Jones Knight, Vireder Phelps-Pedersen, Beryline Phelps Togba, Chioma Jones, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends in Sweden, Europe, USA, Liberia and around the world.
He was predeceased in death by his father Emmanuel E. W. Jones Sr, his mother Henrietta Hayes, brothers Cecil “Tonia”, George, Joseph, Emmanuel Jones, and Lancelot Phelps; and sisters Jestina, Rachel, and Matilda.
Mr. Franklin Delano “Bami” Jones spent most of his adult life in Sweden. He was a dedicated public servant and for most of his career worked at Swedish National Tax Agency (Riksskatteverket) until he retired. He was an accomplished Librarian who was passionate about and known for archiving all forms of history.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held in Sweden on Friday, August 25, 2023
Time: 9:00 AM EST/US; 3:00 PM GMT/EU; 1:00 PM GMT/Monrovia, Liberia.
