It is with deep sorrow that the Monway, Tarr, Nankay announce the sudden death of our beloved, Mother Martha Sundaymah Monway whose sad event occurred on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, New York. She leaves to mourn her daughters Naomi Monway Saywrayne, Victoria Monway Paasewe, Esther Monway, Nancy Monway, a son Andrew Monway, two brothers Rev. Daniel W. Nankay and William Tarr Nankay, two sisters Sarah Tarr Nankay and Wrodai Tarr Nankay, two sons-In-law The Reverend Philip S. Saywrayne and Mr. Mbemba Paasewe, nephews, nieces, Aunties, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her church family (Christ Assembly Lutheran Church), host of other extended families and friends all of Liberia and in the United states.

- Funeral service: Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 8:00AM to 11:00AM

- Interment: St. Peter’s cemetery, 52 Tyler Avenue, Staten Island, New York 10310.

Mother Monway faithfully served the Lord, and she was honored in Christ Assembly Lutheran Church as mother of the year 2018 – 2019. The late Mother Martha S. Monway indeed touched many hearts with her unwavering love. Truly, she will be deeply missed. May her soul rest in eternal peace with Christ Jesus
