It is with deep sorrow that the Townsend, Sheaib, Richards, Massaquoi, Walker, Streeter, and host of families announce the passing of Mr. Julius Winslow Townsend, who left us peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in Chino Hills, California.
Julius W. Townsend was born to the union of E. Reginald Townsend, Sr. and Sophronia C. Richards (both deceased). Julius, affectionally known as JT, is lovingly remembered by his wife, Vera Townsend, their three sons, Anwar Townsend, Khalyl Reggie Townsend (Patience), and Rainier Townsend. He is also survived by his siblings, Annie Townsend Massaquoi, Rev. Dr. Rita Townsend, and Everett Townsend, PE (Julie), Sensee L. Sirleaf – foster brother (Sao), and Henry Richards – uncle (Sheri), and a plethora of other relatives and friends. His brothers George Townsend, E. Reginald Townsend, Jr., Clarence Townsend, Moderator Rev. Sando E. Townsend, Lowell Wesley (stepbrother), and Joseph Sumo (foster brother) pre-deceased him. Julius’ kindness, laughter, and wisdom touched many lives, and his legacy of love and optimism will continue to inspire those who knew him.
