With profound sadness, the Ngangana, Zubah, Kromah, Jaimah, Carter, Perkins, Fromayan, Momo, Briggs, Mulbah, Sanigular, and Subah families announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, mentor, and friend, Dr. Jerome Myntor Ngangana, on October 20, 2026.
Surrounded by the unwavering love of his devoted wife and children, Jerome departed this earthly life peacefully at home, leaving behind a legacy of faith, wisdom, service, and compassion that will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know him.
Affectionately known as “Doc,” Jerome was born on January 6, 1941, in Zorzor, Liberia, to Magdalene (“Mama”) Washington and Moses Washington. From humble beginnings, he grew to become a man of remarkable character, intellect, and generosity. Throughout his life, he embodied integrity, humility, and a steadfast commitment to the well-being of his family, community, and all whose lives he touched.
Jerome’s greatest joy was his family. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his devoted wife of forty-six years, Dr. Pamela Carter Ngangana; their children, Deddeh Ngangana, Tunapu Zeinway (Martin), Dr. Tina Ngangana Washington, Nuta Ngangana, and Dr. Anuti Ngangana; foster children, Arneya Flomo Togbah, Apu Togbah, and Wilmot “Oldman” Johnson; beloved grandchildren, Naybonne Daliah Zeinway, Marcus Mahzi Ngangana, and Martin Meaipa Zeinway, Jr.; his sister, Fametta Zubah (Gayflor); brothers-in-law, Mohamed Kromah, Rodney Carter, and Marcus Richards; sisters-in-law, Louise Ngangana, Vivian Vincent, Clarice Richards;, Louise Gray, and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by his presence.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Moses Washington and Magdalene Washington; his brother, Togba Ngangana; and his sisters, Dr. Margaret Kromah and Bertha Momo (James K. Sr.)
Dr. Ngangana’s life was a testament to perseverance, dedication, love, and faith. He touched countless lives through his wisdom, kindness, and willingness to serve others. Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, the values he instilled, the lives he influenced, and the love he shared will remain forever etched in our hearts.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his extraordinary life and the countless blessings he brought to all who knew him. We find comfort in God’s promise and in the assurance that he has entered eternal rest, welcomed into the presence of his Heavenly Father.
His Lord said unto him “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Thou hast been faithful over few things I will make thee ruler over many things: enter you into the joy of thy Lord– Matthew 25:23
May his memory be a blessing, his legacy endure through generations, and his soul rest in everlasting peace.
