“Let not your heart be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me.” (John 14:1)
The Davies-Doerue, Grimes, Dennis and DeWalt families are heartbroken to announce the sudden and premature death of their precious, treasured wife, mother, daughter, sister, and relative Hilarietta Wilhelmina DarboMarway Grimes Davies. Our cherished Darbo was snatched away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at a clinic in Bong Mines, Liberia, following a surgery. The pain and anguish of her demise have shattered our lives. However, we hold on firmly to Jesus Christ.
Our Darbo (Dar’O) was a remarkable soul. She was a gift from Almighty God to her parents, siblings, cousins, relatives, and friends. Darbo was a Godsent to her husband and daughter. Every life she touched felt her impact. Darbo loved Liberia and believed in her country. She never desired to leave with the rest of her siblings. We laughed it off and allowed our baby sister to live her “Liberian life,” as she always called it. “Me, I like my Liberia yah,” she would tell us at every given chance. Darbo was priceless! Her personality, and capacity to love and care about others, making everyone she encountered feel treasured and special, was unique. Such a rare gem was she. We, her siblings and her darling Mama, will love her ‘til ‘til ‘til ‘til ‘til ‘til ‘til . . . Forever.
Hilarietta is survived by her husband, Mr. Bobby Gar-Monyou Davies;
Daughter: Joy Hortense and Son-in-law Archie Brooks;
Mother: Rev. Janetta Dennis-Grimes;
Sisters: Dorothy L. Passawe (Wilfred), Hortense D. Grimes, Janetta G. Williams, Edith T. Brumskine, Elbertha T. Grimes, Ophelia Howard, Lela Grimes;

Nieces and Nephews: Eunice Brumkine, Effie Famatta Passawe, Jason Williams, Hannibal Brumskine III, Mayatu McKenzie (Shamar), Adrian Merchant, Valerie Williams, Jayden Grimes;

Darbo was soon to become a grandmother.
Hilarietta Darbo was predeceased by her father, Mr. Henry D. Grimes; uncles, Mr. Adolphus C. Dennis, Mr. George A. Grimes, Sr., and Mr. Franco B. Grimes; aunts, Mrs. Angeline L. Dennis, and Mrs. Edith Dennis Benson; grandparents, Mr. Charlie B. Grimes, Madam Dugboma Gbeah, Mr. Hilary William Dennis and Mrs. Texanna Ebertha Dewalt Dennis.
Darbo’s life is characterized by the words of the song “If I can help somebody as I travel this world, then my living shall not be in vain.” Certainly, Hilarietta Grimes Davies has not lived in vain. Trusting the Lord in all situations, we must grieve our human loss. Darbo has her heavenly gain of everlasting life! She now resides in eternity. To Almighty God be the glory, for ever and ever.
