The Johnson and Biago families in the United States and Liberia are deeply heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Ernest J. B. Johnson Sr. (Joe, as he was called by those whom he knew and loved). This shocking event occurred on Saturday morning, May 4, 2024, at the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, Maryland.
Ernest J. B. Johnson is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Jane Wynter-Johnson; son, Ernest B. Johnson Jr.; daughter, Diamond S. V. Johnson; grandson, Elias Johnson; siblings: Mrs. Maryann Johnson-Tucker, Ms. Mabel L. Johnson, Ms. Elfreda Johnson, Mrs. Albertha Johnson-Sulonteh, Mr. Arthur ‘Tarkar’ Johnson, Ms. Evelyn Johnson, Mr. Siato Biago, Mr. Wei Robert Biago; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, many beloved relatives, and numerous friends and colleagues in the U.S. and Liberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred N. Johnson, and Luola Biago; brothers, Mr. Whon Samuel Biago and Mr. Tucker Biago; sister, Ms. Wayky Lahto Biago.
Ernest (Joe) will be deeply missed by his relatives, friends, community, and colleagues. His legacy is one of love, benevolence, motivation, and support and it will continue to inspire us all. May his soul rest in peace and his memory be forever etched in the hearts of all who knew him.
Arrangements
The Viewing for Ernest Johnson will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Grace United Methodist Church: 7001 New Hampshire Ave., Takoma Park, Maryland 20912.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 9:00 AM at Clifton Park Baptist Church: 8818 Piney Branch Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20903.
Interment follows at the Maryland National Memorial Park:13300 Baltimore Ave., Laurel, MD 20720.
Repast to be held at Grace United Methodist Church (address listed above).
