Eliza A. Moore, age 87, was born on November 16, 1938, in Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia, to the late Jessie B. Moore and Nancy S. Moore. She peacefully departed this life on 6-8-26.
Eliza was a devoted woman of faith whose life was marked by service to God, her family, and her community. Throughout her life, she resided in various communities in Liberia before later making her home in the United States. Though her life’s journey took her from Liberia to the United States, her faith, love of family, and commitment to serving others remained constant throughout her life.
For more than fifty years, she was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church while living in Liberia, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. Through her dedication to her faith, Eliza served in numerous ministries within the church. She faithfully served as an acolyte, hospital visitor, homebound ministry volunteer, food pantry volunteer, community outreach volunteer, altar guild member, usher and greeter, choir member, and scripture reader. She was known for her commitment to serving others, supporting her church community, and living out her Christian faith through acts of kindness, compassion, and service.
Eliza dedicated many years of her professional life to healthcare, working as a Medical Assistant and Certified Nursing Assistant. She found fulfillment in caring for others and approached her work with compassion, patience, and professionalism.
Outside of her work and church activities, Eliza enjoyed taking bus trips to the casinos, and taking occasional trips with close friends and to visit friends. She cherished fellowship with loved ones and never missed an opportunity to create lasting memories with those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie B. Moore and Nancy S. Moore; her daughter, Sando Blake; Her Siblings; Mary Moore, Thomas Moore, James Moore, Joseph Moore and Samuel Gross.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Albert Acquah, Bendu Haynes, Boakai Haynes, and Catherine Haynes-Cromah. She is also survived by her sister, Catherine Edwards; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; extended family members; church family; and many friends whose lives were touched by her generosity, faith, and loving spirit.
Eliza’s legacy of faith, compassion, and service will continue to live on through the many people she loved and inspired throughout her life. Her unwavering devotion to God, her family, and her church community will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, steadfast faith, and willingness to help others whenever she was able.
Visitation: Friday, June 26, 2026 from 9-11 AM St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church 1188 Ben Franklin Hwy, Douglassville, PA 19518, with a funeral service to follow at 11AM. Burial to follow in St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church Cemetery.
