The Gardiner, Targbe and Nagbe families announce the peaceful passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great grand mother, aunt and cousin Mrs. Elizabeth Wleeder Targbe Gardiner on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at the home of her daughter in Providence, RI surrounded by her family.
Ma Lizbeth as she was affectionately called, was born in PicnicCess, Grand Kru County to Kumeh Targbe and Maria Bo Juagbwe Nagbe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Gardiner Sr, her parents, her beloved daughter, Fabine and granddaughter, Harriet.
She leaves to mourn her cherish memories her children: Samuel Pini Gardiner Jr. (Oretha), Harold Gardiner, Penella Darlene Kaba, Jacqueline Gardiner, Rebecca Gardiner, Wellington Gardiner, Lydia Weah and
Geraldine Sonpon, 29 grandchildren including Hasse Mansfield Gardiner, Richard Kargbo, Julius Milton, Myrtle Gardiner, Sameria Gardiner David (Nate), Max-Dwain Kaba, Maxlene Kaba, Ellen Gardiner (Martin), Garcelia Deshield (Israel), Gervin Sonpon, Gilchrist Weah, Winfred Weah Jr, Brian Weah, Dayna Weah, Ivy Gardiner, Penella & Sweelyn Ackah, 45 great grandchildren including Harold Sam Vani; nieces: Rachel Teah, Sophie Moore (Abe), Etta Collins Nicol, Annie Collins Gibson, nephew: Cyrus Nimely Sonpon, grandniece: Shirley Wiles (Michael) and cousin Seporal Choloply
