“…there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die…” Ecc. 3:1-2
As Divine Providence would have it, Minnie Eleanor Brown, was born unto the union of Urias A. Brown Sr. and Minnie Brumskine on March 8, 1948.
And, notwithstanding the depth of sadness that punctuates this announcement, there is also, mournfully as it may be, an acknowledgement that it is equally through the unfathomable wisdom of Divine Providence, that November 21, 2025, was selected as the time of her death.
“MEB”, as she was affectionately called, was a woman of assiduous intellect. A Counsellor at Law in Liberia, she worked as the lead counsel for a rubber concession company, ran her own law firm, and worked for several reputable law firms in Liberia. Prior to practicing law, she served as Executive Assistant to the President of the University of Liberia and also taught Secretarial Science. Being fluent in French, she also worked as a translator for Interpol.
MEB was predeceased by her husband, the late Daniel A. L. McCaulay, Sr. She is survived by her children, Badou Edgar, Daniel, Danminetta and Moco, grandchildren, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
As she would have it, her children will hold a private ceremony as a final rite of passage to be followed, at a later date, by a memorial service.
