With heavy hearts but unwavering faith, the Greene, Cooke, and Tallah families announce the peaceful homegoing of our beloved Alfred M. Greene, who entered eternal rest on November 21, 2025, in Monrovia, Liberia, after a brief illness.

Mr. Greene was a devoted Christian whose life reflected humility, service, and unconditional love. He was a caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and a true friend to many. His gentle spirit and steady presence left an imprint on every life he touched.
Born in Tallah, Grand Cape Mount County, he was the cherished son of Mr. Jessie Greene, Sr. and Mrs. Martha Cooke Greene. He has now reunited with his parents and the loved ones who journeyed before him.
Forever Cherished, Forever Missed
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Mrs. Bendu Greene, who faithfully walked beside him throughout life’s many seasons.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children:
McDonald Freeman, Alphonso and Victoria Greene, Maima Greene, Maxwell Greene, Victor and Julia Greene, Etta Greene Harry, Alfred and Theresa Greene, and daughter-in-law Kukor Greene.
He is preceded in death by his son, Varney Greene, and his son-in-law, Bobby Harry.
He was also predeceased by his siblings:
Ms. Sarah Plim, Ms. Elizabeth Greene, Mrs. Hannah Greene Carter, Mrs. Caroline Kaidii, Rev. Edward M. Greene, Mrs. Etta Senwah, Mr. Prince Greene, Mrs. Emma Kennedy, and Mr Jessie Greene.
His memory will continue to live on in his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many relatives, church members, and friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and devotion—both in Liberia and the United States.
A Life Well Lived, A Crown Well Earned
A homegoing celebration honoring the beautiful life and faithful service of Mr. Greene will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
