Scholastica is survived by her daughters Stephanie Paraíso, Gloria Jebeh Awar (Felix) and Alliyah Putu Bracewell; foster daughters Helen Harris, Zoe Nushan, and Estelle Paraíso; siblings Myra Doe, Vivian Doe Bynum, Stephen Doe, Vera Doe Yankey (Larry), Jestina Doe Anderson; and a host of relatives and friends in Liberia and around the world. She was predeceased by her parents, Ambassador Christie W. Doe and Mrs. Jestina Wolo Doe of Grandcess, Liberia; and siblings Col. Christie W. Doe, jr and Gloria Juah Doe.
Scholastica spent a good portion of her life in Europe, America, and other countries in Africa – but her loyalty and commitment was always to her motherland, Liberia. She developed a keen interest in the arts, Liberian culture, and tourism and served the Liberian government for many years as Deputy Minister of Information for Culture and Tourism. She was also a passionate educator, activist for the rights of women and children, supporter of Liberian culture and arts, dedicated family woman, and loyal friend. A great tree has fallen!
Final rites for her celebration of life and thanksgiving are slated for December 13, 2023 in Monrovia and will be live-streamed by Providence TV:
