It is with profound grief and heartfelt remembrance that the Kulah, Lartey, and Addy families announce the passing of their beloved matriarch, Janet Matilda “Chun” Kulah Addy.
Born on April 17, 1966, Janet completed her earthly journey on June 19, 2026, at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia. Known affectionately as “Chun,” Janet exhibited an unwavering spirit of compassion and luminous warmth throughout her life. Her intellectual curiosity and dedication to learning were evident in her academic pursuits, which included studies at Hilton Van Ee School, Saint Theresa’s Convent, Ganta Methodist Mission, and Cuttington University. These distinguished institutions contributed to shaping her into the principled and compassionate individual she became, whose commitment to excellence and steadfast dedication to community service were hallmarks of her life.
Janet’s existence was a living testament to the profound power of enduring love, leaving an indelible legacy etched in the hearts of countless individuals. She now rejoins in eternal peace her cherished parents, the late Dr. Alfred A. Kulah and Mrs. Maryann A. Kulah, and her beloved brother, Alfred A. Kulah Jr., who preceded her in rest.
Her memory is honored and kept alive by her devoted children: George A. Williams (and spouse Yafreisi), Ervin F. Kulah, George H. Addy, Decontee Addy, Jowo Menyongar, and Vonyee Menyongar. She is deeply mourned by her siblings: Alfreda A. Kulah-Samuel (with husband Damian), Dean E. Kulah (with wife Priscilla), Azeayan A. Kulah, Dorothy Kulah, Rebecca Kulah, and Genae Kulah. She also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren, who were the beneficiaries of her immense affection and profound wisdom, and whose lives she immeasurably enriched. Her benevolent influence extended far beyond her immediate kin, embracing a wide network of relatives, a dedicated church community that shared her spiritual journey, and a multitude of friends who found comfort, inspiration, and authentic connection in her gentle demeanor.
Janet’s boundless compassion, unwavering conviction, and magnanimous spirit quietly, yet powerfully, impacted every soul she encountered. Her legacy remains a profound blessing, and her love, an enduring gift that will resonate through generations.
