With profound sadness, the Lewis, Johnson, and Martin families wish to announce the passing of Ms. Yvonne Doria Johnson, their dearly beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. This sad event occurred on Sunday, February 19, 2023, in Fremont, California, after a protracted illness.
Yvonne (affectionately known as Sister Yvonne) leaves to mourn her sons, Victor, and Calvin Lewis; daughters, Elizabeth Johnson (her children: Jeannell and Jeremy Kawolo) and Nakita McGill; her mother, Gretchen Martin Johnson; her siblings, Charles B. Johnson, Ottilie I. Johnson, Douglas F. Johnson, Otis K. Johnson (N’sera Keita), and Joyce Johnson Dolo (Stephen Boone); and sister-in-law, Sara Doe Johnson, and a host of uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives in the United States, Liberia, Sweden, Canada, and other parts of the world. Yvonne was predeceased by her father, James Jefferson Johnson, and brother, James Jefferson Johnson, II. Yvonne was a devout Christian and a member of the Hayward Seventh Day Adventist Church in Hayward, California.
May her soul rest in perfect peace and light perpetual shine upon her!
