“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8
With heavy hearts and loving memory, the Diggs, Reeves, Neal, and Tamba families announce the homegoing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, and cousin, Robertetta Augusta Diggs, who peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, in her 90th year.
Gregarious and funny by nature, Aunt Robbie, Aunt “Raa-ter”, and Cousin Roberetta, as she was affectionately called, remained feisty and extremely caring toward all who crossed her path. She held an extremely personal and unique relationship with each family member and friend. She attended St. Theresa’s Convent and Laboratory High (later William VS Tubman High School) in Monrovia, Liberia. She taught in Gbarnga, Bong County, and worked for many years at the Ministry of Commerce, Republic of Liberia. Aunt Robbie was also an entrepreneur and lived for quite some time in Cabral Estates on the Old Road before relocating to the United States, where she worked as a healthcare professional and caregiver. At one time, she was married to the late Clarence Harmon, Sr.
A devout Christian, Aunt Robbie served as a Deaconess at First United Methodist Church (Monrovia) and SouthPark Church (Charlotte), where she often visited the sick and shut-ins.
Aunt Robbie was predeceased by her parents, Charles Henry Diggs and Ella Reeves Diggs, aunt Ora Horace Mason; and by her sisters, Etmira Madia Diggs Tamba, Benetta Diggs Reeves, and Edna Violet Diggs (EV). She was also predeceased by close relatives and friends including Reverend Mother Dixine Cox, Theodora Jackson, Enid (Etu) Benson, Alliette Jones, Elizabeth Marion Sherman, Cerue Darby, Lafayette Diggs, Baldwin Reeves, and John Reeves.
She leaves behind her devoted sister, Annie Diggs Neal; her children, Precious Diggs, Clarence Harmon Jr., Glenn and Shirley Toby; friends, Alma Grimes, Judith Freeman, Nancy Little, Jean Deramo; numerous nephews, nieces, Godchildren, and cousins; and many other relatives and friends in the United States and Liberia who cherish her memory.
