The Seekie and Simmons/Berry families acknowledge and announce the triumphant homegoing of our beloved Rev. Dr. Naomi Juah Simmons Seekie.
Rev. Dr. Naomi Juah Simmons Seekie peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at her home in Macon, GA. She was a devoted wife (predeceased by Rev. Dr. Blamo N . Seekie), mother, sister, cousin, aunt, niece and friend.
She is survived by her six children, Victoria Carpenter (George), Farmetta Simmons Garbla (Nathaniel), Jarcee Fahnbulleh – Hersey, Nyentue Seekie (Christina), Nyonnohweah Seekie Richard (Cecil) and Nyonnohwleh Seekie; her grandchildren, Yunica Ortiz, Nancy Garbla, Victor Ortiz, Antonio Seekie, Jamil Hersey, Michaela Hersey, Destinee Nawee, Kiara Seekie, Magnus Garbla, Jayden Seekie, Terell “TJ” Ladson, and Cora Nawee; her siblings: Ernest Simmons (Etta), Almatee Mardia Simmons, Abraham T Simmons, II, Choloh William Simmons (Marie), Martha Simmons, Evelyn Simmons Shaw (Alfred II), Herbert Simmons, I (Georgia), Eric Simmons, and Josephine Momsey Simmons Dennis – (Cecelia Roberts & Comfort Simmons predeceased her); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives in the United States, Liberia, United Kingdom, Ghana, and Nigeria.
Her departure leaves a void in our lives, but her memory will forever live in our hearts.
