It is with deep sadness, yet with gratitude to God for a life well lived, that the Eastman, Gittens, and Gerring families announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, matriarch, grandmother, and friend, Rachel Lionetta Gittens-Eastman.
Our dear mother transitioned peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Mama Rachel was a woman of unwavering faith, remarkable grace, and selfless service. She touched countless lives through her love for God, her devotion to her family, and her steadfast commitment to her church, community, and country. Her legacy of kindness, wisdom, and compassion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She leaves to cherish her memory and mourn her passing her children, Esther Eastman-Greene, Jimmy Eastman (Jacquelyn), Natalie Eastman, Raphael Eastman (Grace), Blanche Eastman, her two adopted sons, Wilmot (Nancy) and John (Amelia), as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives, and dear friends.
We humbly ask that you keep our family in your prayers during this time of bereavement.
