April 16, 1957 – June 16, 2026
The Subah, Moore, and Jones families announce with profound sadness the passing of their beloved son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Quaqua Yourgbo Subah. Quaqua peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Maker on June 16, 2026, at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minnesota.
Quaqua was the eldest child of Lusu Deddeh Moore Subah and the late Yanquoi Kolubozumo Subah. He was born in Zorzor, Lofa County, at Curran Lutheran Hospital. He embraced the Christian faith through baptism in the Lutheran Church. Quaqua began his elementary education at Zorzor Lutheran School. When his family relocated to Monrovia, he attended St. Peter’s Lutheran School before transferring to the Lutheran Training Institute in Salayea, Lofa County. He later graduated from Sanford Dennis High School in Monrovia and continued his education at Don Bosco Polytechnic College.
Quaqua met his forever love Garmai Jones on June 15, 1982. After twelve years of dating, they were united in Holy Matrimony in the state of Maryland, on his sweetheart’s birthday, September 3, 1994. They were happily together for 43 years.
In 1996, Quaqua and his family relocated to Minnesota, where he faithfully served as a Nursing Assistant for 30 years, exemplifying his passion for caregiving and his work ethic. He was known for his steadfast faith, deep love for his family, positive energy, generous nature, jovial personality, quiet strength, and dedication to his work.
Quaqua leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Garmai Subah; his five children: Moluwai Subah (Tesa), Deddeh Stanberry (Demaro), Henry Quaqua Subah (“JR”), Elton Subah, and Isaiah Subah; his seven siblings: Yassah Subah Wrotto (Nathaniel), Yanquoi Subah (Marcia), Samuel Subah (Hassatous), Yamah Subah Garblah (Moses), Rebecca Moore Kesseh (Adolphus), Kordorku Subah (Beatrice), and Yassah Konjahn (Josiah); his five cherished grandchildren: Motee, Thomas (“Tommy”), Jasmine, Charlotte and Isaac; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends in Liberia and throughout the United States. Billman-Hunt Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.
