With heavy hearts the Namayan, Swen, Kollie, Zayzay, Akoi, and Morlu families regret to announce the sudden death of Pastor, Atty. John Prosperous Namayan; who went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2023 after a tragic motor accident.
The late John Prosperous Namayan was born in Massamai Town, Vonjama District, Lofa County, unto the union of Massamah Namayan and Deddeh Namayan on August 4, 1965. His parents, along with three of his brothers and two sisters predeceased him.
Honey, Daddy, Brother John, Uncle John, John the Beloved, Joyful J.P.N., Comrade, Pastor, as he was affectionately called by his loved ones; touched the lives of so many persons during his journey on Earth. He will be deeply missed for the numerous roles he played in the lives of those who came in contact with him. We mourn his passing with bleeding hearts but we take solace in knowing that he is resting with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Our cherished and beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin and Friend was a Christian, a man of Faith who preached God’s words up to his demise, Loved and served God with Dedication and Commitment.
John Prosperous Namayan Sr. was a Lawyer, an experienced Administrator, Policy Analyst, Diplomat, Researcher, Trainer, Development Planner, Security Expert, Procurement Specialist, with Strong interest in capacity building, human rights, gender equity, monitoring and evaluation.
John was a great husband, father and a family centered person who dedicated his entire life to families and friends. He died while in active duty of service.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Mrs. Mona Abigail Swen-Namayan; his children, Joann Deddeh Namayan, Cynthia Karnley, Jokaren Saybah Namayan, John Prosperous Namayan Jr. John Miracle Namayan; his Brothers: John K. Namah, Zubah Saygbay Akoi Sr. of the USA, his Sisters: Bedee Zayzay, Kormassa Namayan Tambason, Kebeh Sorbor Namayan and Atty. Naomie M. Gray. Several Nieces, Nephews, Uncles, Aunties, Cousins, Brothers & Sisters-in-law (Prophetess Pastor Maime W. Swen, T. Richlieu Johnson, Theodore E. Swen, Musu W. Swen, Rev. Obadiah Swen, Comfort Swen Ohene and T. Edwin Swen Jr. J. Hernus Tambason), many, many Friends foster children and other Relatives in USA, Europe and Africa.
Your memories will always be in our hearts, we miss you dearly, may your gentle soul rest in peace.
Funeral Services
On March 16, 2023, the remains of Pastor, Atty. John Prosperous Namayan will be removed from the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Home in Sinkor; at 5:00pm and taken to the Harvest Intercontinental Cathedral, Congo Town, Tubman Boulevard, Monrovia, Liberia for a night of wake keeping from 6pm to 9pm.
On March 17, 2023, Funeral service takes place at the Harvest Intercontinental Cathedral, Congo Town, Tubman Boulevard, Monrovia.
Interment: Knuckles’ Memorial Cemetery in Careysburg, Montserrado County, Liberia.
