The Douglas and Clement families announce with deep sorrow, the peaceful passing of their beloved Patina Clement Douglas, who departed this life on February 6, 2026, in New Hope, Minnesota, USA, at the age of 76.
Patina, was born unto the union of Joseph Kwesi Clement and Izatta Hines Washington, on July 12, 1949.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Calvin Douglas; her parents, Joseph Kwesi Clement, Sr. and Izatta Hines Washington; her daughter, Amelia Babysister Douglas; her sister, Hannah Equa Clement Davies; her brother, Joseph Kwesi Clement, Jr.; her brother Wilbert Kesselly; and her cousin, Alexander Ketter, Sr.
Patina Clement Douglas is survived by seven children: Patience Douglas Anderson (Murvee) Angeline Douglas Thompson (David) Benjamin Alexander Douglas Jr., Michael Mitch Douglas, Joyce Douglas, Franklin Calvin Douglas and Joan Douglas. She leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Patina is also mourned by her siblings: Joyceline Esi Clement-Thompson, Rebecca Clement-Nosegbe, Bernice Clement-Binda (George, Sr.) Felix Kojo Clement (Kuskus) Winifred Clement-Nelson (Julius) Litchfield Kweku Clement (Eunice) Kwame Ajavon Clement (Charlotte) and Margaret Abena Clement. In addition, she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins as well as a host of extended family and friends in Liberia, the United States and other parts of the world.
Patina Clement Douglas was a dedicated servant of Jehovah, a devoted mother, grandmother, a cherished sister and aunt, and an exceptionally thoughtful friend. Her warmth, humor, and generosity were unmistakable. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved. Her embrace and the unmistakable light she carried will remain with us forever.
