It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friends. Ms. Zoe Lucinda Zelee. She passed away on February 20th, 2023, at her home in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. She was a loving mother, and adoring grandmother who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.
Our late mother, Ma Zoe as she was affectionately known, was a kind and compassionate lady who touched the lives of so many people with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. From her service as an Administrative Assistant at the Liberian’s Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications (Telecom), to her time as a Restaurateur in Monrovia, catering to students of the University of Liberia in the 1980s, and three decades as a Healthcare Professional (Nursing ) in the US , she dedicated her life to the service of others. As a devout Christian, she lived and worked peacefully with all with whom interacted personally and professionally. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the memories she created.
Ma Zoe is survived by her, centenarian mother Nunu Khan Zelee, her children; Rosemarie Gilman of Brooklyn Center, MN., Otis Zelee of Des Moines, IA. Sophia Zelee of Monrovia, Liberia and Decontee Zoduah of Melbourne, Australia. In addition to her children, she will be missed by her many siblings, eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins on five continents. Her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her father, Mr. Farley Zelee and siblings; Mr. Lewis Youwar Zelee, Margaret Zelee, Rebecca Zelee Garley, Richard Zelee, Watchen Zelee, Comfort Tinakor Zelee and Arthur Tailey Zelee.
While it’s difficult to come to terms with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and is reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time.
A private family service will be held in her honor. All are welcome to attend and share their memories of Ma Zoe Zelee.
There will be a Wake / Memorial Service on Friday, April 14th, 2023 from 5pm – 10pm CST
Followed by a Funeral Service & Repass on Saturday, April 15th, 2023 from 9am -12pm CST.
Both services will occur at The Faith Healing Ministries Int’l (CROSS OF GLORY)
