It is with deep despair and sadness that the Moore, Urey, Fleming, Wesseh, Fromayan families, et all, wishes to announce the home-going of our beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend Ms. Merula Louise Moore. This untimely event occurred Friday morning November 17, 2023, at her home in the state Maryland USA.
Merula Louise Moore was born in Monrovia, Liberia to the union of George K Moore and Marita Fleming Moore, both predeceased. She is survived by her father the Honorable Stephen G. Urey. Two daughters Stephanie Wesseh-Oladeji (Ola) and Mynni Wesseh; her son David G Fromayan II along with many grandchildren; Kamaiya, Trinity, Grace, Alvin Koikoi Jr., Allan, Atira, Ezra, Emmarine, Tina, Wonderful, Timothy, Julissa, Alayjah, Julius Wesseh III, Marianna, Ben and Brianna. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Merula leaves to mourn her death, her siblings: Jonathan Moore, Catherine Moore, Rainsford Moore (Sangai), Evangeline Hill (Clarence Hill Sr) George K Moore Jr (deceased), Joyce Yourfee (Junior Yourfee), Grace Urey, Jangar Urey, Lydia Pennoh(Ben), Isaac Urey. Other close relatives includes Pauline Wesseh Koikoi (Alvin), Julius Wesseh Sr, Felicia Akinnusi (Mr.Akinnusi), Bennetta Wesseh, Emmanuel Wesseh, Julius Wesseh Jr, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
She transitioned to the United States of America in the early 80’s from Liberia, West Africa and always lived a life for Christ. Throughout her journey she worked in the medical field alongside surgeons as her primary occupation. She was an active member of various churches where she volunteered her time serving the elderly, most notably at the People’s Community Lutheran church of Baltimore MD where she was a loyal member and served as a Deaconess. She assumed similar roles at First Rising Baptist Church in Woodlawn, MD. Her outreach also extended internationally to her homeland Liberia through her personal charitable contribution assisting women and babies.
Merula will truly be missed.
