It is with profound sadness, that the Barclay family announces the homegoing of our beloved, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Cousin, Mr. Alexander Varney Barclay Sr. The event occurred on April 26, 2024, at East Orange General Hospital, in East Orange, NJ.
Alexander leaves to mourn and cherish his precious memories with his children: Lucinda Scotland, Alexzine Holley (Shaylin), Wellington Williams, Augustus Rocky Barclay. Grandchildren: Saud Holley, Saleh Holley, Persiah Williams, Dahlia Holley, Jenesis and Jordan Barclay. Siblings: Ethel Payne, Winfred Barclay, Lucretia Barclay, Amelia Bryant, Georgia Larmie (Robert), and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends in Liberia and the United States.
He is pre-deceased by his parent Rocky and Ethel Barclay; wife, Augusta Bright Barclay, son Alexander Varney Barclay Jr, grandson Malik Jones, siblings Florence Barclay, Arthur Barclay, Kona Barclay, Roosevelt Barclay, Joseph Barclay and Harry Barclay.
Words cannot express the tremendous void that is left in our hearts as a result of his passing. We will cherish Alexander’s memory and rejoice in knowing that he is resting in everlasting peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
