With profound sorrow and thanksgiving to God, the Grey, Flemister, Yancy and Hill families announce the peaceful homegoing of our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt Mrs. Mary Lillian Flemister Grey. She transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Novant Medical Center in Matthews, N.C.
A dedicated educator and missionary for over 50 years throughout West Africa, she impacted the lives of her numerous students and led many converts to the saving grace of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As an ardent student, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Liberia in 1966.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish a dedicated and selfless life, her husband of 44 years, Bishop Dr. Curtis Grey, her daughter Freddie Yancy Hill (James), her grandchildren Tshekedi Hill (Jasmei) and Maima Hill, brother Clifton Flemister (Abeoseh), sisters Joyce Flemister Markham and Helen Flemister, sisters-in-law: Emma Andrews Flemister (Frank) and Ernestein Cassell Flemister (Clifford), ten step children and their spouses and grandchildren, nephews, nieces, three foster children: Martha Wilberforce, James Lablah (Neidah) and Helen Korlu Kiamu (David) and a host of relatives and friends in Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, West Africa, Europe and the U.S.A.
We commend her gentle and peaceful soul into the loving Arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
