The Reed and Farngalo families are saddened to announce the peaceful homegoing of their beloved mother, aunty, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, cousin and dedicated church member Mother Esther Vassie Farngalo Reed.
Mother Reed, as she was affectionately called, transitioned quietly in her home in Charlotte North Carolina, U.S.A., on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Mother Reed was a woman of strength, character, discipline, and unwavering love. She dedicated her life to her family, serving not only as a mother but also as a guiding light to her Episcopal community in Liberia and the U.S.A., the Liberian community in Charlotte N.C. and the Breakthrough Center International Ministries N.C.
She cherished the moments spent with them, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
She was predeceased by her husband, Father Samuel Yanquoi Reed of the Episcopal Church of Liberia, and son Gerald H. Holder.
Mother Reed is survived by her children, Dowoweh Reed (Vanika), Garyah Reed (Robinette), Wangar Reed Dennis, Wakada V. Reed, Esther V. Reed , brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
