In Loving memory and thanksgiving to God for a life well lived. The Sherifs, King, Zaye, Mensah, Dunbar, Chesson, Jaeploe, White, and Lassanah families announce the homegoing of our strong and beautiful Matriarch, in her 87th year, Mary Z. Sherif. She transitioned on February 27, 2025, at 6:00 A.M. @ the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Monrovia, Liberia.
Mama, Grand-Dear, Mayrus, Things Part, Neighbor, Crowd of Girl as she was affectionately called. She was a beautiful, loving, caring, and nurturing mother who opened her home and heart to everyone, including the mothering of more than 60 adopted children.
She is survived by her children: Vida A. Mensah, C. Mamawah Sherif, J. Abdul Sherif (Marie Kromah,) Bindu M. Sherif-Dunbar (Tilman Dunbar Jr.,) Yatta E. Sherif, Weatta Y. Sherif -Marcel Chesson, Eliza Pawoo-Jaeploe (Alexender Jaeploe II.) Gertrude Scott, Phillip Henry, Florence, Dower, her grand and great grandchildren.
