Great is Thy faithfulness. Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed Thy Hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, to me.
It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that the Clinton, Browne, and Mitchell families announce the death of our beloved sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, cousin, relative and friend Marie Augusta Browne, known to us as Ayie, Aunty Marie and Ms. Browne. She was 89 years old. Ayie sadly passed away on June 28,2023 at 37 Military Hospital in Accra, Ghana following a prolonged illness.
Ms. Browne was an exemplary public servant, who dedicated her professional life as a banker to the Chase Manhattan Bank and her life after retirement to the Catholic Church. At the outbreak of the civil war in Liberia, she relocated to Ghana, where she would remain until her demise.
Aunty Marie was a devout Catholic. She held prominent roles in the Catholic Church of Liberia. She led the parish council of the Sacred Heart Cathedral rendering service in several areas. This is especially true of the leading role she played in shoring up the finances of the church.
Ayie is lovingly remembered and heavy-heartedly mourned by her sister Comfort, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended list of adopted children, family, and friends.
She was His servant; a believer in one triune God. She believed in the mysteries of the Virgin Birth, and the solemnity of prayer. Marie was a handmaiden of the Lord. We look up to God, her Maker, for solace.
