It is with heartfelt sorrow that the King, Wah, Cineus and Bridgewater families announce the peaceful home going of Julius A. King, devout father, beloved brother, generous uncle and cousin, caring grandfather and grand uncle, and a faithful friend. Julius was born in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia to Jessie Wah-King and Arthur Tonie King on August 1st, 1954. He married Sharon Bridgewater in June 1982, and their son Zina Julius King was created through this union. He worked as a librarian for various law firms in downtown Miami, Florida for many years before retiring. Julius was affectionately known as Brother Julius, Uncle Julius, Uncle Ju, and Uncle J. Julius had a calm spirit and he was generous, caring, sociable and dedicated to his family and friends. We will miss his hearty laughter and positive nature that kept him going. These qualities have left a lasting impact on his family, friends and all who came in contact with him.
Julius A. King was predeceased by his mother, Jessie Wah-King, his father, Arthur Tonie King, four sisters: Minnie King-Dunbar, Maima King, Bendu M. King and Mamusu King; two brothers: Arthur King and Edward S. King.
He is survived by his son, Zina, daughter-in-law Suzana, two grandchildren, Chloe and Ethan King, his former wife, Sharon Bridgewater, three sisters: Hawa King Weeks (Rocheforte), Marion King Roberts, Patience A. King; three brothers: J. Boima King, Gboto King and Varney T. King. Nieces and nephews: Christine Dunbar, Arthur Elliott, R.T. Weeks, Moivee Roberts, Seigbeh M. Roberts, Jande Weeks, Bai Louis Shephard, James Feay Roberts Jr., W.B. Weeks, Sajumah Kromah, as well as grand nieces, grand nephews, cousin and friends in Liberia and the United States.
Celebration of Life on is Saturday September 16, 2023 at 10 am.
