With heavy hearts and immense gratitude for a life well lived, The Nelson, Diegbegha, Ere, Wariebi, Amiekumo, and Johnson families announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, Mrs. Tari Catherine Ere-Nelson (Aka Ma, Eneye Ma, Political Ma, Sis. T, Oldma, Sis. Tari, The Advisor, Etc). This sad event occurred on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. She was a mother to all who came in contact with her.

She was predeceased by her husband Mr. Nelson Johnholt Diegbegha.

She is survived by her beloved family, including her children:
Eneye Gloria Nelson-Gbedee, Brakemi O. Nelson, Sr., Layefa Nelson-Daweah (Smitt), Sophia Kiokeyie Nelson-Goun (Nathaniel), Waripere Nushie Nelson, Enemo Nelson (Jartu), Oyieke Nelson (Rebecca), Waripamo B. Nelson (Welma), Tonye Pius Nelson (Jacqueline). Her siblings: Sayeifa Ere, Emmanuel Ere, Theophilus Ere and Freedom Ere.

She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other cherished relatives and friends in Nigeria, Liberia, United States and other parts of the world.
