Florence E. Smith

It is with great sadness, we the family announce the passing of our beloved, Florence E. Smith   Florence passed away on October 23, 2024, in Bowie, MD, USA after a few months battle with liver cancer. She was called by the Good Lord to take her rest.

Florence was born and raised in Crozierville, Liberia, West Africa unto Thomas Smith, and Frances Carter Smith.   Florence attended the Esther Bacon memorial institute in Monrovia, Liberia. She was also an Alumni of Samuel Grimes Maternity and Child Welfare Center in Kakata, Liberia.

 Florence acquired several diplomas and nursing certificates in the USA. She worked as a nurse almost all her life. Florence was noted for her quick wit and a penchant to treat everyone she met with love and respect. Throughout Florence’s life, she impacted the lives of all who knew her. She was selfless, compassionate, smart, family oriented, kindhearted, humble spirit, funny, always calm, and thoughtful demeanor which touched countless lives. Her profound love for God and friends will be greatly missed.

Florence leaves her siblings to mourn her loss. Mrs. Henrietta S. Wennah and Ms. Chalnicea B. Smith and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends in the USA and Liberia.   As we mourn, let’s take solace in knowing that Florence fought the good fight, she finished the race, and she kept the faith. Let us honor her memory by living as she did with courage, with compassion, and with unwavering love for life.   May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
